2.0n/t tranny in 1.8l DSM

Hey guys, found a really cheap clean 1.8ldsm with no tranny (manual). I have spare 2.0 n/t manual tranny laying in my garage. Is it possible for me to bolt the 2.0manual n/t tranny to the 1.8???

THANX A TON IN ADVANCE !

I don't think so.

Re: 2.0n/t tranny in 1.8l DSM

I'm not sure on this issue, now if you had a turbo tranny and a non-turbo car, yeah it would work... (The F5M33 will bolt in place of the F5M22 [don't do it the other way, I could explain the tapered bearings, but I'll keep it short... DON'T)...

I'm not sure a/b the 2.0 to the 1.8...

Does anyone even know the 1.8l transmission code/designation?

^Isn't that motor the 4g37?

Edit:
A quick look on e-bay has led me to form an opinion...

That's the 4G37's transmission (f5m21)...
The bellhousing on that transmission looks a lot more shallow than the bellhousing on the F5M22 or 33...
I think they will bolt onto the 1.8l block, but I do not think that the clutch will go onto the input shaft...

I may be wrong, but that's my $.02

I'm 99.9% sure that even if it did bolt up correctly, it would not be usable.

I'm still unsure on all of this, but this guy claims to have done it...

Does the 1.8 Tranny bolt up to the 4G63 N/T engine if its out of the same year?

-Do any of the Radiator lines need to be moved or changed?

-How much will the car drop in ground clearance from the heavier 4G63?

-Are ALL the engine mounts in the right place for the 2.0?(meaning is it completely plug and play? or will i need to do some fabricating, if so on what mounts?)

The answers are : Yes the tranny bolts up no problem..the only place that you would need a new tranny is a turbo engine..but if your going n/t to n/t then your fine.

No radiator lines need to be moved or anything.

Everything is bolt in and plug in the new harness, no modifications nessissary. good luck
