Re: Clutch petal vibrating, normal?
Hi,
I don't know if I will be of much assistance because Im still kinda wondering the same thing. I just bought the 04 G35 manual with 22,000 miles on it. I just purchased it last night and on the way home I started noticing the same thing. I didn't want to start freaking out right off the bat because Im really anal about everything that can go wrong with a car and I pick at everything. So when I got home I told my husband about it and he said let him drive it to work and see what he thought. He called me after he got to work and told me that yes he definatly thought there was a problem, pressure plate, throw out bearing ect. Well I called the dealership where I bought it and they told me to bring it in the morning which I did. The service guy that I spoke with drove the car and he said that he was pretty sure he could tell what I was talking about, but that it was normal with the racing clutches that were put in these cars. My husband told me when I took it back if they initially told me nothing was wrong with it to make them let me drive another one if they had it, if not to drive a 350z because obviously they are one in the same. So they didn't have another infiniti so I drove the Z. The guy told me when I got in the car that it probably wasn't going to be as noticable in this one because the clutch was a little softer than the G35; which it was, but I still felt the same thing just not as much. So I guess that it really isn't anything to worry about, its a little aggravating, but I guess you will get use to it. I just can't see the same exact thing being wrong with both of the cars seeings how the Z did it to so I'm going to take a leap of faith and hope that it really isn't anything to worry about. I really wish someone that had first hand knowledge of this would let us know something it would really help. As far as the manufacturers warrenty covering stuff like that, it doesn't because thats something that can be easily broken because of stupid drivers. So their not going to replace everyones clutch that comes in because people don't know how to drive and burn them out. Unless theres something deffective that they can find wrong, such as a defect that was there when the car was manufactured. Chances are we would be stuck with footing that bill ourselves. So Im not sure if this has helped you at all, but maybe someone else will have some insite for the both of us.
Thanks
Ashley
