Oil Pres Sender Problem
I have a 93 LSS with 140,000 miles. The dashboard info center started making the warning sound and read "OIL PRESS SENDER PROBLEM" but the guage on the dash went to the TOP - over 120 !! Then the dash computer says "LOW OIL PRESSURE"
It almost stalls, but I got it back home. I don't want to drive it too far until I get some ideas. I'm hoping for a bad sender, but worried it could be worse. Anyone encounter similar situations? Any ideas what a new sender will cost me? |

Re: Oil Pres Sender Problem
You probably need to replace the OP sending unit. Also, be sure to check the wiring & connector at the sending unit. Mine did the same thing and when I removed the sending unit, it was clogged with debris.
It has a very small orifice for the oil to flow through and it is a dead end. (No circulation)
