can't get out of the park position.

When I push the button on my gear selector for the automatic transmission it won't go all the way in and won't release to allow me to move out of the park position.

i had that problem with my camaro once...it ended up being that something fell under the gear shifter and it stopped the button from being pressed in but w/o looking at it i couldnt tell you what i would be. either way i would take the cover off and look at it
