1999 Chevy Tahoe (Being very Anoying)
I purchased a 1999 Chevy Tahoe recently. Love it ,with some minor bugs that I have had to fix, i.e. battery leads, exhaust, cats. Now in the mist of changing the battery cable leads I believe I had possibly blown a fuse. Whats happing is since doing so my chime underneath the dash will not go off, and also the seat belt light will go off then a little bit down the road comes back on then goes off then comes back on. It has never done this in the past. Also while this is going on I'm trying to drown out the sound of the chime that is really getting anoying at this point. Note this is a later body style 99 not the new. If anyone has suggestions on what to do besides pulling the chime please let me know thanks.

Re: 1999 Chevy Tahoe (Being very Anoying)
Welcome Aboard!
The audible warning is controlled by the body control module (BCM). It has multiple inputs which will affect what signals/functions it may activate. Look for obvious problems associated with the work you have done. Fuses inside the passenger compartment as well as the underhood electrical center should be checked. You may want to disconnect the battery while you investigate, not only for safety but to possibly clear the BCM of faults or to "reset" the logic. Make suer everything is turned off before recomnnecting the battery. |

Re: 1999 Chevy Tahoe (Being very Anoying)
Man I hate going up against the ''Registered Offender" but, I don't think the "old body style" '99 Tahoe has a BCM. What it has is a "Audio Alarm Module" which is located in the Convenience Center behind the park brake pedal. It takes up the whole right side of the CC.
3 fuses power it. All are in the IP fuse block. Gauges #4 10a, Illum #14 10a and stop/haz #1 20a.

Re: 1999 Chevy Tahoe (Being very Anoying)
Alright, I have checked and re-checked everything. All fuse on the side of the dash(drive side), I couldn't find any in the passenger compartment or behind the compartment. There is what looks like a fuse block under the dash by the parking brake. But the only thing I can make from it is there are some wires with harnesses plugged into it and also my chime and flashers are connected in there as well. I have also noticed now my seat belt light comes on and stays on for a while the flashes and then goes off. Normally the seat belt light just somes on for a sec then flashes then goes off forever. While I am waiting for a response I'm going to unhook the plug right next to the seat belt under the seat.
