2000 Grand Prix Radio Removal

I just need to remove the radio to install XM satellite radio. I'm installing the wired fm transmitter and i need to know how to pull out the factory radio.

You just pull off the dash and theres a couple screws you take off that hold the radio in place and pull it out, thats it. Very Simple.

Hey man, I own a older mustang so that shit is alot easier then newer cars. This is my moms car and i dont wanna screw it up. Can you give me any better direction then "you just pull the dash off"?

I pulled out the radio and pushed it back in and the RED LCD Display where it displays the song #, or the radio station # is blank. You can see the radio station is really dark. The Red LCD Display is not there.

It is the same procedure for 2000 and up as far as removing the dash panels. Take it or leave it.

The RED LCD Display, is not lighting up anymore. It is blank with the letters in dark red. The blacklight is black and not red like it was before.

Someone please help i opened it up and check the bulb and the bulb looks fine.. doesnt look burnt out.

What are all the fuses that relate anything to the radio.

What work did you do when you removed the stock radio? Was the battery negative cable disconnected before starting work? Even though the lamp looks good did you check it with a multimeter and ohm it out? Hopefully, you did not burn out the display driver IC.
