Re: What should i do?

don't buy the turbo kit off ebay. save yourself money. i'd go for the swap. or a full-race.com turbo kit. or piece together your own turbo kit. good luck.

"boost is the most cost-effective way to make power on a D series car"

swapping is going to net you 155whp at best, whereas a boosted D can make 180-200whp no problem for the same if not less money
Your funny. I cut 12.7's in my all motor lsvtec crx with 201 whp. I like to see a 180-200whp Dseries break 12's. Even 13's will be tough. You haven't seen too many lsvtec motors obviously. A good friend with a lsvtec cuts 12.1's in an EG, all motor. She's a female at that.

A DOHC motor is far superior to a SOHC for the simple reason that you have control of tuning each set of valves individually. Not to mention, 1.5/6's don't have very impressive torque curves.

I'm not going to argue this. It's fact, not opinion. If you can't agree, it only shows how uneducated and stubborn you are.

I do agree however, that boost is really the only way to make power on a D. The highest whp all motor D's only push 180-190 whp and they're track only cars that barely break 12's.

And again, more whp does not mean faster. It obvious when you consider some 500 whp turbo honda's running 11's, when the same can be done, all motor, with 250 whp. I'm not trying to turn this into a all motor vs. turbo argument. I'm just stating that obvious, that a B is far superior in design than a D.
And if price is your argument, my LS block cost me $100 and my B16 head cost me $500. Total for the motor was $600. That's right around what a D would cost you.

By all means, lets not all be individuals, and have our own preferences.

I'm aiming for 10's with my next build out of a 260whp+ NA B motor, on pump gas.

I'm on the same page with homie right here...I'm finishing up my B20 and will be looking at about 215-220 to the wheels. And that should put me in the mid 12's or low 12's once I get use to the setup.

D's are cool...and I give much props and love to the people who choose to go that route. But it comes down to how you feel and what you want to do! Do let people sway your opinion or feelings! Build a car that you are going to be happy with. I've worked with nothing but B-Series engines, but I have always wanted to build a Turbo SOHC D. Maybe one of these days I will get around to it.

But like I said it's up to you homie and what you want, and how much you are willing to spend! One piece of advice that i can give you from all these years under my belt! is DON'T CUT CORNERS! don't go buying cheap/knock off shit, buy quality parts even if it takes you longer to accomplish your goals you will be happy with the end results!

B > D
