1994 suburban k1500 clunk/knock

I have a 94 suburban that runs fine in 2wd, but when i put it in 4wd hi or lo it make a clicking noise at low speeds from what sounds like the drivers front wheel area, then at higher speeds its its like a knocking noise, doesnt always do it either. I just did pads and rotors today and didnt notice anything obvious, could it be a bad hub or something like that?

Check the front cv joints on the side the clicking is coming from.

its definatly not cv noise , at higher speeds it turns into a loud thumping/knock....faster turns into a vibration of the whole truck.

Check your front driveshaft u-joints and slip joint on the shaft.

Re: 1994 suburban k1500 clunk/knock

ended up being a u-joint on the shaft that goes to the front diff, would have had it all done tonight but they gave me the wrong ujoint, has inner clips instead of c clips so ill have to wait till tomorrow, supposed to snow tonight too, which was the whole point of getting this done lol
