93 GMC Sierra Digital Heater Controls Not Working

I have a 93 GMC Sierra 1500. I live in Montana and last night it got down to around 30 below zero. I went out to fire the truck up and it started hard and now the fan control on the digital display has no response. I am trying to heat it up with a hair dryer. I was just wondering if anyone else has had this problem and whether or not this is damaged and needs to be replaced or if it is just frozen. Anything hleps. Thanks

Re: 93 GMC Sierra Digital Heater Controls Not Working

I have a 91 and I have had my truck in mighty cold weather with no problem like you described, but I have heard of the digital head units for these going out randomly, mine got a little wierd when my dual battery isolator was going bad sending voltage spikes through the elec. system, but it never fully failed,
good luck with it.

Helped a fried with his '90, doing the same thing. It was the control head causing the problem.
