Question autozone warranty for alternator

i know when u purchase the alternator autozone automatically puts u in the database for the lifetime warranty, but should u still need the receipt to replace it?

Always keep the receipt.

Remember the phone number you gave them when you bought it. Take a sharpie and write it on the alternator itself. They won't honor the warranty unless you go back to the same store, and have the phone number you used when you bought it (unless you have the receipt of course).

thanks they said i didnt need the receipt, i just gave them my number and they looked it up
