where'd you get your 240sx?

Just wondering how everyone found their 240sx and how many you looked at before you knew it was the right one...

Finally getting really close to actually getting out of my fwd...I owe less than it's worth and now I've got a pretty damn good credit score for a 23 year old.

Anyhow, share what your experience was like.

Re: where'd you get your 240sx?

well i got my first one from my mom!!! It was a hand me down. I parted that one out. I bought my second one(current project) from a used car dealer like 1 mile from my house, i pounced on that like no other. He said there were 5 people in line after me on the car lol. ALL KIDS.

And i may be buying my bros for 500 bucks to make a beater ass drifter out of it......he already crashed the front twice. Then recently, he was driving and his hood flew up bent the hell out of his hood(like its demolished) and broke the sunroof and smashed his roof. Luckily the windshield did not bust out. So i may have a 240 i can really just beat the hell out of and not really care about lol. I have ALL the parts i need to fix this thing too . Weld a diff, old front end/core support. Various nice(r) interior peices. It will be clean, just multicolored and ugly lol. Perfect for drifting. ITs a white 5-speed hatch.

oh and to answer the low offset question in your sig.......YES IT STILL DOES LOL.

Re: where'd you get your 240sx?

after driving my brother's s14 when i was 17, i came across my s13 coupe in some random auto sales when i was about 18. it really is in good condition. i have couple dents and my clear coat is a bit worn off, but i have no rust on the entire chasis. he wanted $3250 for told him if he sold it to me for 2100 i'd go get the money right there. bought it almost 4 years ago. and almost finished with my current build.

Re: where'd you get your 240sx?

bought it 3 years ago from a co-worker who had delivered pizzas in it for a few years.... he told me it wasnt running right and that it needed a timing chain.. so i offered him $500 for the whole car... luckily he took the offer.

92 240sx rust-free.... (except some rust that WAS in the engine compartment... under what was the battery tray and right by the exhaust mani)

Re: where'd you get your 240sx?

Hand me down from my dad for free!

haha, but man did it have a ton of miles on it (240,000) if i remember correctly, and it was on its second auto tranny . Where was Nissan at with those autos anyway?

But after I get my first degree I'm getting another s13 baby! 5 sp this time! and that will kick ass! then I'll go Ka-T with any luck! and keep the 3000 as a daily driver.

but really its been getting harder to find 240's in decent condition at a decent price these days.. damn Initial D and Fast n Furious movies

I knew someone would have a problem with that haha...I just thought I'd prove that a high offset rim can look nice...nothing against low offset lovers and their messed up steering...I guess in some ways we are all slaves to fashion...

Didn't know so many of you were multi-240 owners...had a chance to get one as my second car, but I didn't take it...s13 hatch 5spd dark green...nice car, but I didn't want to spend $2500 so me being the idiot that I am, lost my cosigner (ex's mom) and then couldn't even get approved for a small 2000-3000 dollar loan on my own...one day I was at the nissan dealership with a friend checking out cars, he said he would cosign and I bought the first car I test drove (02 nissan sentra spec v)...

so instead of paying $2500 I've spent about $13000 in the last 3 years LOL...I def screwed myself over...but now I owe less than 8k and the cheapest spec vs around here are over 8k...one just listed on craigslist for 7800 WITH a salvage title so I might be able to sell it for a bit more than I owe and actually buy a 240sx with the money leftover

I'm looking at an 95-96 4 lug non-se or a 91-93 fastback non-hicas non-se...5spd ofcourse and with any luck a black exterior with grey interior (I hate the tan/brown on the s13s... )

Re: where'd you get your 240sx?

i spent less than a month looking for both of mine.

oh and if you do it right, low offset can be used without any steering problems...

Re: where'd you get your 240sx?

Those of U who have looked 4ever, I know where U are comin from. I've had my eye out 4 a year and a half, and I saw one deal, which happened 2 be when I was flat broke, and actually owed someone some $ also. Anyway, these things are pretty hard to find. If I do get one, it'll probly be from the classifieds though.
