my 05 grand prix is haunted....

I have an 05 grand prix. It started to just stall or fall out of gear while driving. Its automatic and it will just die. The rpms would fall also. Then like 5 seconds later it would go again. I have no clue about cars as you can tell im female.(lol) so before i set my car on fire and roll it into the river j/k i figured if yall have any suggestions??????

Oh yea i did take it to a friends shop. he said he could not get the car to do it while he drove it and he couldnt tell me what was wrong. He did suggest changing the fuel filter. ???? im clueless.

Welcome to AF.

The fuel filter would be a good starting point. Also, you may have a flaky crank position sensor. You would be the first owner with a '04 and up Grand Prix that reported the problem on the forum.

Any Service Engine Soon - SES light?

yes the engine light did come on. It did this for like 2 weeks off and on. some days no problem and others days i would wanna blow it up. thanks so much for the advise. leave it to me to be there first with a jacked up car..... but hey it could always be worse.

Thanks Again Hun..

You're welcome. If you can catch it with the SES light on you can get it scanned to see if any odb-ii DTC fault codes are stored. Places like Autozone will do it for free or maybe your mechanic friend has one. Good luck.
