knock sensor on 1996 nissan maxima gle
if the knock sensor is bad could it cause the car to sparaticly cut completly out, meaning the car completly dies. and it does not matter when or where it may happen. thanx for any responces

No. KS Malfunction causes ign to retard = fuel consumption up, pwr dwn.
Try this: Check/replace/clean engine cont relay under hood. Nissan has color coded relays which can be swapped to troubleshoot /locate issues.
