Re: 88-94 Sierra Stepside 1500

From 88 to 94, it is all TBI engines: a 4.3 V6, 305, 350 and 454 V8 (not all years on the 454). I have a 90 K1500 with the 350 and it probably had 200 HP new and the torque was near 300 lb-ft. The TBI engine is fairly simple to work on and pretty dependable. Not a high HP maker but a decent engine.

One difference to think about is trannies. Starting around 92 or 93, then went to a 4L60E auto for the small block v8. Prior to that the had 4L60 (700R4). The 4L60E can shift a little smoother but is more costly to replace. Something to think about (or just go with a stick!)

Bottom line is that there is not much difference in the engine from 88 to 94.
