1997 Z24 tranny nightmare!

i recently got a 1997 z24, the car was in pieces and needed some work. I put it back together, but the comuter had 4 wires cut in half, so i soldered them back together and shrink wraped them. i drove the car yesterday and it will not leave 1st gear, it is an automatic, i tried to manual shift it and it wouldnt shift then either. it has a small miss but i would think it would still shift, the car has been sitting in a barn for 2 years so if anyone has any ideas at all please tell me asap thanks

Check your wiring again. That transmission is electronic, it must be commanded by the ECU to shift.

Also, have the codes scanned. The ECU should have picked up shift errors. Shift errors MAY or MAY NOT turn on the check engine light.
