Re: My car acts like it getting no gas at times????

I don't have a direct answer to your question, but I wanted to post similar symptoms that I have had. I drive a 1992 ciera and often on cold starts it hesitates or "drops out" in the first 10% of the acceleration process. It's like having a carburated car with a bad accelerator pump. On my car, it goes away after warming up. It has never stalled because of this either, so I've been driving it like this for few years now When I have time, I may check the fuel filter and maybe the pump. Does this sound anything like what you experience? Hope you find a solution.

Also, sometimes, randomly, my car runs kinda rough to where I have to really give it some acceleration to get it moving, but often it goes away after turning off the car and turning it on again. It's almost like reseting the computer helps those wierd moments.

Re: My car acts like it getting no gas at times????

Several things can cause this troubles.

If the plugs and wires are fairly new then I would try changing the fuel filter.
Its a pretty cheap thing that usually gets unnoticed untill its clogged when troubles occur.

If you notice that it seem worse when you get low on fuel then could be a sign that your fuel pump could be ready to go.

Fuel presure should be 41-47 PSI on the V6 and the 4 cyl.

The V6 has a valve on the fuel rail where the pressure gauge connects.
I believe the 4 cyl need to have a line connected and the gauge installs in line. Pain in the But.
You can buy or rent either at most parts stores In the US I am not sure about Canada.

Also it is recomended that the fuel filter is changed about every 30-40K miles.

Hope that helps!
