BAM! lights are gone

90 CRX DX 250,000 miles

I was driving last night for work and I turn the lights on and off a lot from parking to on and last night it was all bad...I was driving I turn the lights from parking to headlights and it's all good then I turn them off and back on and allllll the parking lights don't work anymore...no interior lights, the clock doesn't dim like it supposed to, no corner lights or running lights in the back but the headlights still come on, it's getting old I know but could it be a relay or switch? I don't think it's a fuse but i'll check

Re: BAM! lights are gone

Certainly sounds like the relay, the headlights are on a different one, and the clock isn't dimming. Get under the dash by the fuse panel and flip the lights on. Listen for the relay to click, Also remove it and check to make sure its working. Put voltage to 2 contacts (keep trying different combos till its right) and see if it clicks, then when it does, check for continuity between the other two contacts that you aren't putting power to.

Re: BAM! lights are gone

turns out it's the fuse...but it's not just the fuse I tried just putting a new one but it blew it also, so there must be a short somewhere but I have no idea where it could be since there are so many things connected

Re: BAM! lights are gone

Check for corrosion or water in the bulbs, it can short out a light.
