New rally models?

I hope somebody will make some new rallymodels in plastic kits this year.
Like Ford Focus WRC 06, Citroen C4 WRC, Impreza WRC 06, maybe a S1600 or a S2000 car.
Or why not a remake from tamiya for the Escort Cosworth.
I hope Tamiya, or hasegawa or anybody else will think about this.

What do you guys think?

No doubt about this one, it seem that tamiya prefere to re-release old models than to produce new ones...

Re: New rally models?

Personally I've seen enough Impreza's from Tamiya - the 2006 Focus WRC is an absolute must!! what a great looking car!!..a decent Xsara would be nice too...

Re: New rally models?

hello,

thanks to think to rally fans !

I think that the C4 would come under Heller brand but I heard that the firm was bankrupt and will stop everythink...

The focus 06 must be the most wanted and waited, that's clear. btw that's mine. Hope tamiya will remember they released rally cars in the past.
Hasegawa seems to be more reactive to this subject.

A 2006 impreza would be nice but already so much tamiya's Subs and still no mitsu WRC, no Xsara (will never be made by tamiya according to the japanese firm... I really wonder why), no S1600 althought such rally cars would interest many people as they run almost everywhere as private cars (and what to say about S27 or reji or Renaissance which would bring us many more possibilities), no Gr. B except the 205 Turbo16...

I would appreciate a R5 turbo Gr. B, not many things to change on their mold, or any Gr. B (a quattro A1/A2 same conclusion than for the R5 Turbo) that would be released.

perhaps...

Phil

Actually I have heard about that they were still in business and were still planning to produce this.

Re: New rally models?

As much as I am a Subaru fan, I would like to the Citroen Xsara and Ford Focus '06 in a quality plastic kit before anything, then we can go back to Subaru.....

Maybe Heller has exclusive rights for Citroen (rally)models?

There is always these licensing things around and they are not that cheap these days...

Re: New rally models?

Somebody's gotta do the '06 Focus. I hope. Maybe Hasegawa? Pleeeease? Or Tamiya- I'm not picky. I like Subies fine, but I would not be amused to see the '06 STi before the Focus. (With it's magnificent string of failures this year, I doubt even Subaru would be enthusiastic about the STi- I'm sure Solberg wouldn't. )

I think they have and I DID NOT enjoy making mine as the kit is terrible.

SO close to scraping it.

Re: New rally models?

Unfortunately any new rally kits we can expect from Tamiya will be with the half arsed die-cast chassis, like the dreadful 307. I wish tamiya will review their policies. I long for the return of full engines and full detail chassis's, like the Mazda 787 or the Sauber Mercedes C9 or the C-Class DTM Mercs...............

I've heard. Looking forward to it, but it's a bit of a wait!
