Oh dear god! I have no idea who or what Pelican is, but for the love of moses, please never say, type, or think "the bomb" ever again.
 I thought that phrase died in 2004, it could wreak havoc if its resurrected

i might catch them in Syracuse in October. I like them, they're like a heavier Dredg, kind of a hardcore jam band/indie rock.
they're the bomb.

I guess nobody other than vinny has heard of them? You're all missing out.
Saw them a few weeks back in a place with about 20 other people, reached up and stole a couple of drumsticks off stage while everybody else was busy rocking out. It was the bomb

that's awsome, i never had time to go see them unfortunately, i've been too busy with work and catching up with missed work from the shows i have seen.

I only buy CD's that i really like, cuz i'm a cheap whore who can't afford all his music legit.
So, I just bought the album, The Fire in our Throats Will Beckon the Thaw, and it is great. (along with Mastodon's Leviathan)

Chi town love. Ya they're pretty decent, I'd classify them as math metal. Like a metal version of Minus the Bear or Volta Do Mar.

if anyone's interested, Neurosis and Isis are similar bands. experimental doom metal and technical/math metal, stuff like that.
