And the beat goes on
In the last week I have had to repair the broken hood and parking brake releases on the kids 2003 Durango. yesterday I go to start the '96 Caravan and the key will not turn in the ignition lock. I finally get it to turn and leaving it in on position (negative battery cable disconnected) I pull and replace the lock cylinder. Everything appears to be OK and I drive off, I shut her down and on the next restart I have no turn signals, radio, and ABS and Airbag lights are on sand HVAC is silent as well. I shut her down and pull negative cable once more, wait a couple of minutes, reattach cable and restart car and all is well. I assume my ignition switch (the electrial switch) is going and that i can also replace but, all of the Haynes procedures say I must remove the ignition lock cylinder to replace the ignition switch, TRUE?
