97 gt AC/heater/blower whines
When i turn the AC/heater/fan on, there is a loud whining noise. It is really loud inside of the car and sounds like it is coming from under the glove compartment. When the hood is opened, the noise can also be heard. This just started recently and it was periodic, but now it is happening more often then not. This can be a major issue during the winter months. Any ideas would be great. Thanks!

Re: 97 gt AC/heater/blower whines
Welcome to AF.
The blower motor is located under the passenger side of the dash. Sounds like bad bearings. You can either replace it or try removing it and lubing the bearings. May work for awhile. Held up by 3 5.5mm bolts. Also, clean out all the debris that accumulates. If you decide to replace the blower motor there are two types so make sure you get the right one depending on whether you have a manual HVAC or digital climate control system.
