Whats the biggest tires we can use?

Whats the biggest tires we can use? I got a set of 4 275/40/17 tires, for cheap, and I would like to know if they will fit on my car? I don't want to sell them, because I need new tires for the spring and I only paid $300 brand new.

Those should be fine height wise but if going on stock rims will probably bulge out because of being so wide.

You can use those, but just as a pointer, i've heard that your car will handle a little worse with wider tires on the stock rims....can't quite remember why though...anyway its something to think about.

They are going to handle worse because there is a bulge in the tires causing more sidewall flex. Kind of the same idea of trying to go around a turn fast with drag slicks, the sidewalls are going to flex more.
