What have I fried?

I tried to install an old inverter on my 01 Silverado. Seems the inverter was faulty.
I have fried something...I can smell it.
The message center shows "SECURITY", and then a red battery. The ABS light is on and so is the fasten seatbelt light.
Everything seems to work OK.
So what multi million dollar piece of equipment have i fried?
Thanks...Paul

Re: What have I fried?

What is the battery voltage with the engine running? Should be around 14. If it is around 12, you may have fried the alt or wire from the alt to the battery.

Bat voltage is still around 14.
Everything seems to work but the ABS light and air bag deployed light are always on. The Gear selector indicator does not show and the cruise light does not come on.

Re: What have I fried?

Where were you tapping into to hook up the inverter ? I hope you were connecting it directly to the battery and not just tapping into some other power wire. If that is the case, that you were tapping into another power wire, you probably fried something on that circut.
