anyone know how to turn the idiot lite off

I have a 04 CRV and told that the dealer has to turn this lite off. Light popped on around 20,000 miles. Any ideas on how to shut off the "maint requird " lite.

SEARCH! As covered 10billion times now here it goes AGAIN!

With the ignition off press & hold the trip reset button with your left hand. Switch the ignition on without starting with your right hand. Continue to hold trip reset until maint. req'd light flashes then finally goes off.

The light will come on +/- every 7500 miles letting you know a maintenance service is due. The only services I don't rec. skipping are 30K, 45K, 60K, 75K, 90K, etc.

Thanks for asking. I needed to know also and didn't have to look very far. I wasn't sure what to search for so I just decided to look through the thread titles. and there it was right on page two. There are no stupid questions just stupid answerers.

I guess that that is the way to reset the maintenance light for all model years, huh? Cause I was looking it up and it turned out to be the same for the '03 and the '04 I'll try it with the '05 and hopefully it'll work. unless anyone knows it to be different, please be kind, and let me know how it's done.

We just purchased a 2006 Honda CRV last Friday and the owner's manual says it is also done that way.

SO to sum it all up for those looking for the answer, The above Method works for the model years of 2003-2006. If anyone confirms that it works on earlier models leave a line to help the next guy out.

Yeah,,, t worked with my CRV 2001 but light doesnt flash, it just return back to Greeeeeen! when maint. req light is up, it becomes yellow-orange, and if u ignore it, it becomes RED! so u reset it manually after checking ur car!
