Seat belt warning light & alarm issue
I have a 2004 F150 and within the last few weeks it sometimes acts like I haven't fastened my seat belt. A mile or two after taking off it will start to scold me with the bonging tone and the seat belt light in the dash flashing. It will do this five or six times until it knows I am irritated, then it quits doing it until I have shut off the truck and started it up again. What's worse is that it doesn't do it every time!
Does anyone know what's up with this otherwise great truck? Thanks, rockwell |

Re: Seat belt warning light & alarm issue
Loose connection under the seat, or an intermittent seat belt switch?

Thanks Rpg0, I thought you were on to something with the loose wire idea. The wires are all connected, and none of them seem to have been disturbed. I did notice that the alarm did not sound when I fastened the seat belt before starting the truck. It does continue to go off if I start up and then fasten the belt...but...the goofy thing might start bonging a mile down the road when I'm all fastened in and thinking it is healed.
I don't know anything about the switch you are referencing. Is it accessible, and maybe interchangeable from one seat to the other. I could test it that way..? |
