Help-01 Civic HX parts
Ok... so i just recently bought a 2001 Honda Civic HX. I love the car, great gas milage, clean and very nice. I'm trying to do some upgrades on the engine and I'm falling short on where to find parts for the HX model. As of right now i only have the cashflow to do only the small things like headers, exaust and what not. I have been told that EX headers will fit on the HX model but no one can confirm or deny this statement. If someone could please tell me what is compatible with my car (if anything) it would be much appricated... or tell me a great place that i can find parts for my limited Honda.

Re: Help-01 Civic HX parts
It will fit, but you need to modify your exhaust. HX has built in catalytic converter attached to the exhaust manifold, and another converter attached at the end of the down tube. EX has only one at the end of the down tube. So if you want to use exhaust manifold for EX, the you either have to go get new exhaust manifold and catalytic coverter assembly for EX, or have a muffler shop modify existing to custom fit. Also HX has 3 oxygen sensors instead of 2 for EX. So you would have to create a bung on the exhaust piping and set the sensor.
And here are my 2 cents. HX is not designed for power, rather it is designed for efficiency. If I were you, I would leave the exhaust manifold alone. Just spend a couple of hundred on nice CAI and it will be better than replacing the exhaust manifold assembly for $1000 or so... |

Re: Help-01 Civic HX parts
Thanks a lot. Any other advice will be greatly appricated. I think i might keep this car as a daily driver now and invest in something else.
