Jet Performance Help
im stuck here
i got a hold of a JET PERFORMANCE STAGE 1 chip for a 1992 GTP 3.4 the only thing is my car is a 1993 GTP 3.4. AS FAR AS I KNOW THE THE ONLY THING THAT HAS CAHNGED ON THE 3.4 FROM 91-93 IS THEY GOT RID OF THE OIL COOLER SYSTEM ON THE 93'S. SO IM WONDERING WHO HERE THINKS THE 92 CHIP WILL WORK IN MY 93, THE ONLY THING THAT HAS ME WORRIED IS THE DIFFERNCES BETWEEN THE TRANSMISSONS, 1992 HAS A 4T60 AND THE '93 HAS 4T60E. THE PEOPLE AT SUMMIT TOLD ME THERE IS TWO DIFFERNT PART NUMBERs FOR THE '92 AND '93 THE '92 IS # 19209 AND THE '93 IS 19310 does anyone here see they are just carryed over teh year and last digit on numbers , im thinking it will work what doess everyone else think, or if anyone is for sure let em know any and all feedback would be great.

I assume you're saying that your car has the 4T60-E electronic trans, and the PROM you're buying is supposedly for a 92 with the 4T60 non-electronic trans? Does their listing show the OEM prom # that this is supposed to replace? The GM computer shows 2 of the 3 proms (depending on the OEM code) for the 3.4X with an auto trans are interchangable between 92 and 93, and one is not. I don't show the 3.4-X motor offered with the non-electronic 4T60 auto trans in 92 or 93, only the 4T60-E and the 5 speed manual. It appears that the 4T60's last year used in the Grand Prix with a 3.4-X was 91.

so a 92 and 93 are compt. so it should work inless i was one of the unlucky guys that got a 91 comp for the 92 year ?

It depends on your OEM number. 2 of the 3 for the 3.4 and auto are the same between 92 and 93, one is not.

The numbers are stamped on the e-prom chip itself, but I have no idea how to tell which one the Jet chip corresponds to.
