What to do?

Hello,

I still have my 95 rodeo sitting on my property... Looks great, blown motor. The frame has some rust on it, nothing has poked through yet.... but probably will happen soon.

I went to a local car auction and sitting on the lot is a 95 rodeo with the word "Donation" written on it. It has 138k on the odometer. I popped the hood and saw that the timing belt had burst throught the belt cover...

The frame does not have a spec of rust on it. It is an automatic, my Rodeo was a 5 speed. At first I thought I could get it and throw the engine into my rodeo... but now I feel I could just get that one running. A plus is that its an automatic and my wife does not drive stick. I also have all new belt parts because my rodeo blew right after the belt rebuild. Same color interior.

It looks like it is purple, not my favorite color...

I offered the guy $200.00. He said he wanted $500.00. I think thats a lot for something that is not running and I would have no idea of the condition of the engine.

It is a low end auction, cars don't go for much. I watched a 1991 rodeo go throught the auction, running, decent shape, only got to $800. So, why didn't this guy bite on my offer? It is still sitting there....

sad but true it is probably worth 500. i just bought a non-running 94 ranger for 600. fixed it and sold it for 2000. but nothing major was wrong.
why don't you come up to 300 and see if the guy bites on it?

p.s. if you "score" it we can call you barney.
