Re: Car starts w/out clutch

Did you by any chance do an auto to manual swap in your car? Other than that reason, I have no clue.

Re: Car starts w/out clutch

I had a friend with a 94 EX and it did that. He cut some wires or something. I don't know exactly what he did but he did it intentionally.

Re: Car starts w/out clutch

There should be a clutch safety switch mounted somewhere under
your dash that the clutch pedal activates. I'm not sure where it's
located on your car, could even be on the transmission.
That is probably your problem, it may even be adjustable.

Re: Car starts w/out clutch

Like jclark said, yes there is a safety button and its under your clutch pedal..basically when you press your clutch it pushes down on the button and it sends a signal to your computer telling it that your clutch is down just in case you would try to start it while it is in gear..my guess would be that the button is f*****

Re: Car starts w/out clutch

well its the same for my 240sx but its under the hood there is this relay that the guy who had it before me took out and just had a wire jumping it and without that wire my car wouldnt start without first pushing the clutch.. its a sensor but u shouldnt be worried about it.. look at it as less wear on the clutch when starting
