|
Revell master plus nozzle change problem
I changed the nozzle on my airbrush guys and now it won't spray, it blows the paint back at me for some reason.
Now I read you need to seal the nozzle in with wax. Has anyone done this and give me some hints? What type of wax etc... Please help, it's holding up my projects!!!

Definately a bad seal around the nozzle. I don't know your airbrush but have you lost a seaing ring somewhere? have you crossed the threads?
Badger make a sealing wax using beeswax. Wipe some around the threads, screw down, hold over a lighter to melt the wax and then let cool hard again. Maybe post a picture of your airbrush?

That's the sort of answer I was looking for. I asked around for this wax today but no joy.
Should I have a go with candlewax for the meantime tonight? Here are some pics of the airbrush. Nothing is missing...

Looks liek a cross between a badger and a paasche
 My badger has a tendency to "bubble back" at me too. I try to make sure that everything there is SUUUPER cleaned out and I use the wax. They also make something called needle juice. I have never been able to get any but it is supposed to be a good needle and mechanism conservant/lubricant. EDIT: I'd be cautions with regular candle wax. Maybe real beeswax candles?

Dan,
Have you separated the two "bigger cone" pieces and cleaned everything in there as well? There should be a gap between the nozzle (smaller cone) and the outer piece for the air to go through, if it's blocked then the only way the air can go is back up around the inner nozzle. Another thing is to make sure you use the spanner provided to tighten that outer part so that there is no gap between the airbrush body and the inner nozzle.
