New to the Skyline world
Just as the thread subject says, I just recently bought a
93' Skyline R32 and with no history of working on cars, I decided to make this my first experience, so far I've installed the following -removed the old tiny intercooler and installed a new GReddy intercooler -took out the old airfilter assembly and installed an Apexi air filter -took off the old BOV and intake piping and installed new piping with a HKS BOV -installed a GReddy boost gauge but no timer/computer -mounted on a front strut bar -replaced stock hood with a GTR hood -bolted on a commonly seen body kit -NGK iridium spark plugs -550cc injectors so for the future, I plan on replacing the auto transmission with a 5 speed manual, install a rear strut brace, replace suspension and sway bars (titanium parts were reccomended) installing a turbo timer/computer, remove hicas, and possibly sand and smooth whatever metal i can and accent the engine blue with yellow cables and hoses. so what i ask of all you guys is some tips, like what is a decent turbo timer/computer to go with, maybe fuel management, etc.. anything to help me turn this stock car into something i built myself and admire my work. -stinar MCAS Futenma |

Re: New to the Skyline world
There is a huge range of options for each.
Turbo timer - take your pick...really depends on features you want. Go a dual turbo timer (dtt) if you want it to have a boost gauge, or just a fully automatic turbo timer (fatt) if you dont need it. Most will come with lap timers and voltage. a couple are: - Blitz digital compact IV (either dtt or fatt) I have this one. Very nice, with small screen http://www.blitz-power.com/Blitz_Tur...er_FattDC4.htm - Apexi auto timer, similar features to the blitz http://www.apexi-usa.com/product_ele...=198&pageNum=1 - There are plenty of others too If you want to replace the ECU: - there is the power fc (if you can find one as some models have been discontinued). This has been the popular choice due to direct plug in, ease of use and it is cheap - There is also autronic, microtech, haltech, wolf, motec to name a few. Some have more features than others, and some are not a direct replacement and need rewiring. Cost also varies quite a bit. Fuel Management without replacing the ecu: - most popular would be the apexi safc which is a piggy back computer http://www.apexi-usa.com/product_ele...=202&pageNum=1 Hope the info helps JB
