Air Valve vs delayed choke

i got small problem with my 4runer v6 3vze, after top end build up, i got problems with startups, especially with cold/ mid-temp startups, my air valve is defective, would it has even any connection with it?. I dont recall any problems before rebuilt, spark plugs are approx 16k, champion cheap @ss, some cables, ignition is ok but could be better, (it looks like all of them age same way ) it almost looks like misfire cause by something, maybe too much air or bad crank sensor if it got one; one day it would idle a sec 500rpm and then choke would kick in, other day it would kick in right into choke mode as it should every cold day 1500rpm, it does it randomly, dont wanna blow money right or left anymore, got to say that cold incjector is checked and its spraying fuel to rich the mixture up any suggestions much appreciated

Re: Air Valve vs delayed choke

Pull the check engine codes, even though it may not be throwing a CEL there still may be codes that might shed some light on you symptoms.
Make SURE the gap of your plugs is set properly and the timing is perfect.
there is a jumper (year of vehicle?) that needs to be in place when checking timing.
If you have an intake manifold gasket compromise this will cause your symptoms also, their should be a "lean air fuel mixture" code.
Try a set of factory recommended plugs for the ell of it and see what happens Nipondenso. also I have had multiple problems with after market plug wires installed factory sets and problem cured.

Re: Air Valve vs delayed choke

here's an update: i made it to work and to local coffee shop at launch time, but i didn't make it home it just wouldnt start up again, it cranks but no start, i think my fuel system failed, got new lines, filter, & gas tank from california,(+new plugs installed yesterday) but no gas smell whatsoever, i dont even know why i bother with this piece of junk
