06 galant GTS gas mileage problems

i just wanted to find out if anyone has a 06 GTS and is having gas mileage problems? i am getting terrible mileage and not sure why. Now the one other question is, i was told that i can put regular gas in the car, but i thought i read somewhere that it needs premium gas. anyone know???
