my first try

well, here's my first attempt at photo editing. i'm poor, so i used GIMP (free) instead of photoshop, but it still works.

let me know what you think.

here, i attemped to change the car's color. dosent really look that great.

here, i made the car stand out by making the background black and white.

Hey man, thats some great work for them beeing your first trys. I think the 2nd one turned out great! The 2-tone adds a lot to it. Nice stuff, and keep practicing. I just did my first chop a couple of days ago too.

how do you go about changing the color of a car?
my way was to put the original image at 100% opacity in back.
i put a flat blue layer in front at around 70% opacity
in front of that i put a copy of the original with a transparency set to let the blue thru in specific places.
there has to be a better way to make it look better.

actually if you look carefully at the first one you will see that i forgot to do the reflection on the ground... the harderst part was the shadows. i had to airbrush the opaque layer like 50 different ways before it looked real.

what i did:
background => black and white
lowered about 2"
very slight body section
window tint
shaved door handles and side mirror
exhaust pipe relocation. (gone from pic)

hows it look?

chop top.
remove accent strips on side.


does anybody know how to do wheels?
mine always look horrible
