My wife went in to a dealer today in our new neighborhood for an oil change. They quoted her a $600.00 bill for the 60,000 mile maintenance checks. The nice man informed her that it may seem expensive, but his dealership drains all the fluids and replaces them with modern synthetics, some of which cost upwards of $30.00 a quart. My first notion is to walk into this guy's shop and do something rude. How much should this evolution cost, and what is actually involved - if its not a nice woman with four kids distracting her getting a line from a *very* nice maintenance writer?

Re: '03 Yukon XL 350 4X4 60K mi. Maint. Cost?
Welcome to the forum. Just an fyi your Yukon will either have a 5.3L or a 6.0L they didn't use the 5.7L (350) that year. In the back of the owners manual it will tell you what needs to be done at a 60K service. I would start with that. Gear boxes shouldn't need to be changed yet, I probably will need a tranny service, oil change, check all fluids, etc. If it were me I would have the coolling system serviced. If the t-case needs serviced it takes a special fluid and it is expesive. Sorry I don't have a manual here with me to tell you what the service includes. If you cannot find the info you need as the shop for a list of the services that needs done. Hope this helps.
