Might wanna check the shop manual on the new 3.3L and 3.8L lambda series V6 motors, John. My read indicates Hyundai no longer uses hydraulic lash adjusters in their "V" configuration motors as the company did on the 2.5L and 2.7L delta V6 motors. They have solid, precision machined, steel tappets which have to be clearance checked every 60,000 miles. If out of tolerance, the miscreant tappets have to be replaced outright. Replacement tappets are available in 41 service lengths. Since the camshafts have to be removed before tappets can be removed, and to do that, the crankshaft timing chain and cam interconnecting chains have to be removed, a "valve adjustment" promises to be a real fun event (i.e. - $$$$$) for lucky owners. Suddenly timing belts don't seem so onerous anymore. I wish I understood what the Koreans were thinking in abandoning maintenance-free hydraulic lifters.

Note to former model Sonata V6 owners: be careful what you wish for - you might get it...

I'll definately have to look into that. The issue has never been brought up here at the dealership yet. One would assume Hyundai wouldn't go back to this setup. Can't see why they would.
