laguna turn key nothing happens

first thing in morning turn key and for a second or two nothing? then engine turns over and car starts no problem.this seems to get worse with cold/damp weather , no trouble in summer.first started beginning of year ,but warmer weather seemed to cure.yesterday went to start and nothing,it took 5 mins of turning key before it would start car.there was nothing at all/ it was as if something electrical was not working.has anybody any ideas before it gets worse?
