96 cherokee problems

i have a 96 cherokee, 4.0 i6, that has been sitting a while , about a month ago it started up, i let it sit for that month now, when i try to turn it over nothign happens, there is a clicknig noise in the fuse box, any help or advice is appreciated. i kno it runs because i bump started it yesterdaybut i cant get it to turn with the key thank you

So, it is either your ignition switch, your starter, or your battery.

Check your starter draw (in amps with a shop VAT tester) and the battery voltage during cranking (voltmeter).

Check cable connections and ground (do voltage drop test).

--(Note: If you will report test and voltage information that you have obtained, I can give you more info.)

Use a remote starter switch to the solenoid next.

Then take starter out and test on bench.

Tip: might be a good time for a Haynes maunal if you don't have one. The factory service manual (FSM) is better but costs more.
