2000 k3500 idle surges in gear
I just bought a 2000 k3500. So far the only problem is the idle surges,only when the truck is in gear and up to operating temp. The idle will surge from 650 to 1100 rpm. I think I probably have a bad sensor. Maybe coolant temp or egr valve. Any help with this problem would be greatly appreciated.

what engine in the truck? 6.6 TD, 8.1 behemoth, 6.0?

 for some oddball reason i had it stuck in my head it was a 2003. was sooooo full of turkey and stuffing i had a brain fart

The engine is a 5.7 l with 140000 miles. Thanks again.

vacum leaks was my first thought as well. There doesn't seem to be any. Maybe IAC motor?
