02 Impala LS 3800 cold start problem

02 Impala LS with a 3800 in it. On a cold start, the engine will not idle unless you give it a little bit of throttle to keep it running for just a little bit. Then it will run fine and start fine after warmed up. What is the problem? Put new plugs and wires and checked all of the sensors and checked out ok. No codes or dash lights on. I can't be the only one to have this happen can I? Help

the easiest things fist, I would check for carbon build up on the IAC pintle and well and the throttle blades and clean them with carb cleaner.

Tried to clean throttle blades and all sensors. No luck. Any other ideas?

Re: 02 Impala LS 3800 cold start problem

start the car up a minute or two then shut it off and pull the vacuume line off the fuel pressure regulator and check for fuel or even a bit of dampness in side the line. It should be dry, if not the Diaphram is leaking and you'll need a new one.
