Alpine 12" Type-R VS Jl Audio 12"

i was just wondering which one you guys would say is better? type R is a lot cheaper but will they give about the same sound quality... seems like a few of the members here will say so.

Thats a tough one... im a fan of both... and they both have there cons and pros about them... JL speakers and amps are very good as well as alpine... but the differece i think is in the price... alpine amps and speakers are all underated... but great quality with a not too big price tag... jl audio on the other hand is very good brand buthe thing about the amps is pretty much this..."1 dollar per watt" it can get pricey... they r both excellent brands but in the end i think jl has the best range of sound quality and power... and alpine trailing by a hair...

Ascendant arsenals are supposed to be able to compete with the w6/7 setups, im waiting to get my spare car running before i start investing in my new system. Id have to say they arent underrated more like over priced same with jl, audiobomb amps and kicker amps. For the same price a PPI, or hifonics will do just as good or better depending on the power you need. everyone has there own preferences but i dont see spending 300+ on a sub that has a counterpart that is just as good or better for about half the price.
