My transmission failed on me last week and I am trying to get it fixed (fixed? nobody will fix it, they just want to install a rebuilt one). They ran some tests at the dealer and determined that it was not an electronic problem:
Clutch Volumn - ok Latch Test - Stuck in Low and various other tests So they determined that there is a failure in the transmission itself. The problem is that they can not locate a used transmission anywhere. They can't even seem to locate the information about the transmission. Does anyone know what the specs or Transmission code would be for a 1995 sebing transmission (4 speed automatic w' overdrive). There is something about a 2 switch transmission and 4 switch transmission and the dealer can't tell me which one I have.. and they have the car?!?!?.... Why isn't there any out there?... Any suggestions? Labour to replace these transmssions are a killer (8 hours just for a take out and install , not to mention the rebuild). Wanting to keep my Sebring on the road is not looking good. |

Re: Can't find info on 1995 sebring transmission
With the 95 one thing you need to remeber is that this beast is more Mitsubishi than it is Chryco.I am very curious as to what codes came out and what it is doing.Let us know if you can.mine has about 300000 kms on it and works like a charm, and of course being a mechanic I take REAL good care of it.Ya ,ok.
