Re: Buying new subs

$120 is not much these days. Xplode stuff is not that good, you will need to make a box designed especially for them. Pyramid is not that good either, but I understand the budget constraints.

Re: Buying new subs

don't go by the watts go by rms or continous watts other wise the subs are not going to last. the 800 by the subs is the max it can handle before it fails

Re: Buying new subs

Like ive said before that any legacy amp ahould be cut down by about 4 times the power. You would be lucky to see 200rms x 2. You need to save some more money if you want something decent. Sony pretty much sums up to junk. IF you need to do it on a budget buy one sub at a time or look on some audio forums to see if anyone has anything for sale. Just keep in mind stay away from legacy, pyramid, sony, thump, crunch, pyle, volfenhag, power acoustik subs, if anyone can think of anymore add on. Ive done budget setups before my first system took me over a month to get all the pieces.

Don't ever look at cars as just imports or domestics. Just because a car is made in a certain country doesn't mean that it is anything like another car from that country. An example of this is Mitsubishi reliability, just because they are Japanese doesn't mean that they are as reliable as a Honda or Toyota.
