Hello, i have a 1989 lesabre limited, and it has the ugly green dash lights, i have a new monsoon radio i have with red lights and i want the rest of my dash to light up red. what do i need to do to get the manual climate control to be red, and what about the cluster, its the idiot light one with a speedo and fuel gauge. also, whats the correct way to remove the radio in this vehicle.?

Re: Switching the Color of the Dash

As for the AC/Heater controls, go on ebay and search for LeSabre T type parts as they have red backlit knobs. I think theres one listed in a store at the moment.

As for the cluster, you can remove the dash (7mm scews under the top part of the dash, t15 screws by the windshield), then the cluster itself. There are bulbs that are easy to remove and replace behind the cluster.

As for radio removal, you will need to first remove the outer decorative panel...I believe it just pops out but be gentle, its old and brittle, remember. After that, you should be able to remove a few more t15 torx screws and it should slide out.

Re: Switching the Color of the Dash

If you can't get a hold of one of those units Alibi mentioned, find any pontiac at a boneyard, they all have red for their interior lighting.
