Question LED security passlock 'light'

I have a 2001 3.8 Impala without the chip in key. You never know when it will force you to wait 10 minutes to get the engine started. The cutting of the yellow wire trick says it will cause the security light to stay on all the time. they said to take the bulb out. How can you with the LED combo readout?and is there any way to instantly bypass the passlock to get the engine started?

Solved the problem!! The lock tumbler jamed so as not to be able to remove the keys. I then replaced the lock & cylinder $191 and have not had the problem since. It did take four, ten minutes waites for the computer to align itself to the new lock.
