Hi, I have a 2000 ford contour. Among many other problems that I have had with this car, the most recent and most currently pressing, is the fact that my brake lights will not turn off. Even when the car is off the break lights on the back of the car and the break lights on the rear window stay on as if someone is sitting in the car with their foot on the brake. It is annoying, being that I have to unplug hot lights everytime I turn off the car, plus I am worried that the one light I cant get to, to unplug- the window light, will drain my battery. Nothing else seems to be the problem ::knock on wood::, I mean my turning signals still work fine, its just those darn lights. My husband thinks its a fuse, but I think a fuse would cause them to go out, not stay on. Please, if anyone has any advice or opinions, feel free to share!
Thanks, ~La

Re: 2000 contour brake lights wont go off
Most probably it's a switch. Should be located somewhere around brake pedal, up under the dash.
