engine light

so my girlfriend has an '04 civic. Whenever she turns it on the engine light blinks 10 times, does that mean anything other than take it to the dealer? my moms '97 or '98 accord does that too. Any help would be great.

u should take it to auto zone and they could scan the code for free i took mine and they told me what was wrong but yea

It's the "maint" light, not the check engine light. It just means scheduled maintenance is coming due soon. A quick glance through the owner's manual will reveal many fascinating facts about the car.

Many threads on this search..Just turn the key half way and hold the trip down this will reset the timer for your maint light indicating you need an oil change.
