940t vs monte carlo ss

First off there was no one in sight when this happened. So I was driving on the highway and I see some a car cruising in the right lane and decide to catch up and see if he wants to go. I get up to it and it's a black sixth gen Monte Carlo SS, the supercharged one, and it looked stock. So I pull up next to him and get on it for a sec. as soon as I let of he floors it. I was at his front door when I hit it and instantly got even with him. From third to fourth I inched ahead for a sec the dropped even again. We started at 60 and pulled to 105ish both of us pretty much neck and neck all the way. I put the brakes on first though cause I knew the road got bumpy up ahead. I was really surprised I thought they would be faster than that. But If it would have gotten up to 115 he would have probably walked away.

Re: 940t vs monte carlo ss

did it look like this one:

or this one?
http://www.gmcanada.com/images/vehic...de_02_main.jpg

cause if it was the 1st one, they didnt come supercharged until 04-05. the monte carlos came N/A with the SS badge from 2000 up to the 05 year as i stated, above the S/C wasnt included until 04-05. the 2nd pic/link is of the new LS4 V8. just an FYI

Looked like this http://motorsportsdecals.tripod.com/...images/b18.jpg

My car is also rwd and those are front not that it matters too much at 60.
I really know almost nothing so maybe your right? Now that I did some research I don't think it was supercharged. Oh, well.

Re: 940t vs monte carlo ss

No I haven't go to run it at the track or dyno

But after doing some research I found out that the sc ss has 240hp and the n/a has 200hp which sounds a lot more reasonable. Especially since stock my car has like 167 @6psi. And I have 11psi now. It was still a good race.

Re: 940t vs monte carlo ss

good race, actually you'd prolly get him on the top-end. the L36 are better on the low-end. so from a dig you prolly get rocked, but on a highway you might edge the car out. just my $0.02

Re: 940t vs monte carlo ss

The older Monte Carlo SS's you could tell they were Supercharged because it would say "Supercharged SS" on the sides. If it just said SS then it was the even older Monte Carlos which were like only 200 hp. The brand new ones are V8's. Still crap though, the car would be much cooler if they went back to rwd.

If this is the car you ran then it wasnt supercharged...which means I should have no trouble beating up on a car like yours with my GTP...nice race...
