QUESTION:
1) Do you guys think the dealer is feeding me BS? 2) Do i have a chance at claiming lemon law and how to i start the process? I have a 2004 3.8L imp Ls, every option but onstar, purchased new. I am a dedicated GM buyer, but im getting fed up with the dealers in my area. The car has been into the dealership FIVE TIMES for moonroof problems, 4 times for domelight problems, and over 2 weeks for strange noises at higher rpms. (dealer currently still has possesion of car) So to clarify question number one, my moonroof has been working intermittantly since i bought the car. Dealer replaced motor. worked for 6 months, acted up again. dealer denied problem. now dealer acknowleged problem, and replaced switch. I go to pick up the car, and the moonroof acts up again, right in front of the dealer. (WTF!) He keeps the car, calls me the next day and says its fixed. i ask what did you do to fix it. he tells me that all they did was clear the trouble codes and now it works. WTF! trouble codes dont CAUSE the problem, or could they for the moonroof system? anyone know? clarity for question number 2: the car has been to the dealer on and off for almost a months worth of time during my warrenty period, and multiple times for each problem, and they never seem to get fixed, so do i have a shot at claiming a lemon or what? Thanks a bunch for any replies! ~Rob

Re: Seeking advice on my LEMON
Lemon laws vary from state to state, so you'd have to check local statutes. AS far as codes causing a moonroof to be troublesome sounds like hagwash to me. Unless the moonroof is on the system data bus, and some sort of communication error occurred, I believe he's full of hooey.

Re: Seeking advice on my LEMON
so i guess noone has any opinions on this???
just to update, the dealer STILL has my car (will be 3 stinkin weeks wednesday) and has to yet to DETERMINE the problem with my car, let alone fix it. im definitely asking for a new car whenever these nuckleheads decide to try to give the thing back to me. on a seperate note, anyone have pros/cons of the 2007's (if i actually get them to give me one) i think i want the v8 one....

Re: Seeking advice on my LEMON
Bypass the dealer and go over his head by either contacting the Regional office or even try the 800 number for customer service.Going higher up the chain of command can help you get problems resolved. Make sure and document everything noting dates the vehicle was in the shop, any receipts, and other paperwork associated with your problems. Also you might want to contact your local office of your state's Attorney General. After doing so, that might get you additional leverage when dealing with GM.
