Thumbs down Engine troubles

I have a 94 Tracker 4x4, with 165,000 miles. The car ran fine until about two months ago. The problem is after the car reaches operating temps it starts to pour white smoke from the exhaust when I accelerate rapidly. Also when I check the oil it appears to have trans fluid mixed with the oil. I am thinking that the trans modulator is bad and this is causing this problem. Can anyone tell me if I am correct and how to change the modulator. Any help will be greatly appreciated

You sure it is transmission fluid in the oil and not coolant? I'm assuming you have an automatic. I'm also pretty sure that there is no way that tranny fluid can get into the oil UNLESS you have a transmission cooler that happens to be part of an oil cooler or vice versa. I don't know as I have a manual.

btw the white smoke usually means coolant. If thats the case I would do a compression test on the cylinders and see if you didn't blow a head gasket.
